Overview
Static monetization is the lightest integration Adzen offers: by default you add the tag to the page, and we do the rest.
No backend work, no API calls from your servers. The Adzen tag runs in the reader’s browser and requests placements for the page it is on. Adzen reads the page itself, on our side, and returns placements that fit that page’s actual subject matter.
We understand the page, not the URL
Traditional contextual targeting works from a URL pattern, a section name, or a list of keywords someone maintained by hand. That approach cannot tell the difference between these two articles:
| The page is about | Keyword targeting sees | Adzen reads |
|---|---|---|
| A review of the best cast-iron skillets | “iron”, “pan”, “cooking” | Cookware purchase research, mid-funnel, strong retail intent |
| A recipe that happens to mention a skillet | “iron”, “pan”, “cooking” | Recipe content. Incidental cookware mention, no purchase intent |
| A profile of an athlete who crashed out of a race | “crash” → blocked | Sports profile. Safe, monetizable |
| Coverage of a fatal crash | “crash” → blocked | News, tragedy. Suppressed |
Keyword blocklists produce both kinds of error at once: they block safe pages and miss unsafe ones. Reading the page fixes both.
The tag does the heavy lifting. Placement requests and impression tracking are handled by the tag against the delivery endpoints. You do not integrate against those directly.
What you control
Adzen is opinionated about relevance and safety, but the commercial and placement decisions stay yours:
- Domain configuration — which properties are authorized to serve
- Placement rules & protection — where ads may appear, and where they may not
- Exclusions & brand safety — categories and advertisers you want kept off your pages
- Earnings & reporting — how earnings are tracked and what you can see
Ways to integrate
| Method | Status on Static |
|---|---|
| Tag | Available — the standard path |
| Direct API | On request |
